You Wonder

You wonder if I can see you.

I see you.

I see the man who has worn himself thin just to prove he’ll never walk away.

The man who would bleed only to show his love runs pure.

The man who has faced down his fears—

the fear of being consumed,

the fear of not being enough—

and still, he stands.

I see a man more than deserving.

A fighter.

A protector.

A man with a heart truer than any I’ve known.

I see the fear in you—

the ache of wondering if you can hold me close enough,

the trembling of a soul afraid of losing what it always prayed for.

And still, I see the light in your eyes—

the goodness,

the fire,

the kind of love that cannot be taught, only given.

I see you.

The one who sees me back.

The one who reaches through the silence,

who calls me home,

who whispers to my soul and refuses to let go.

I see a man who loves me deeper than I ever thought possible.

And when I see you—

I see your soul.

And I love your soul.

I love you.
